A Beautiful Blue Bloom for the Hottest Days of Summer

Why Blueberry Smoothie™ Rose of Sharon Althea Trees?

Gorgeous blue-purple blooms, reminiscent of blueberry ice cream, define this eye-catching Rose of Sharon Althea Tree. The deep purple flowers curl at the edges, making an incredible addition to your landscape.

Plus, you get massive double blooms with this tree. These full flowers sit perfectly amongst the bright green leaves.

And the Rose of Sharon pops as everything else begins to fade. In the dog days of late summer, the Blueberry Smoothie™ Tree begins to bloom and delights well into the autumn season.

Even better? You'll just plant it and enjoy it. You don't need to worry about annoying upkeep when it comes to this tree. Simply plant wherever you'd like an additional spark of color...and watch the growth take off without effort.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Blueberry Smoothie Tree in either full sun or partial shade. This tree is very resistant to heat, drought, pollution and poor soil conditions, so you only need to worry about where you place the plant in your yard.

Dig a hole large enough to accommodate your Rose of Sharon's root ball, place your tree, and backfill the soil. When planting, add some compost and a general fertilizer to the soil and then top off the base of the tree with some mulch for water retention.

2. Watering: Because of its drought resistance, you only need to water your Blueberry when you get less than one inch of rain in a week. Simply check the soil about 2 or 3 inches down for dryness.

3. Fertilizing: You can fertilize the tree every spring with a general-purpose fertilizer.

4. Pruning: You only need to prune if you want it to maintain a certain shape for hedges. Cutting 2 to 3 buds on each branch will allow the tree to produce larger blooms the next season.
